Andrew Hadle always has a few tricks up his sleeve.

The local artist is known for his slime-covered superheroes and quirky installations on the walls and floors of Scottsdale's Squeeze Gallery, Downtown's Bragg's Pie Factory, and Tempe's Harry Wood Gallery.

And tonight, he'll open the doors of Tempe Marketplace and the ASU School of Art's Night Gallery for LOL Country!, a "preemptive retrospective" of new sculptures and imagery.

Hadle says the show will include DNA mutations of inanimate objects, an audio/visual smash-up, a VJ mixing favorite YouTubes, and a psyche dance party. In his show invitation, Hadle encouraged gallery visitors to bring their rats for the 2011 Night-Gal Rat Race at 9 p.m. against the house champion.

Like we said, the artist has a few tricks, but we're also pretty sure tonight's show will also be full of cool artwork.

The opening of LOL Country! is tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Night Gallery, 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe. For more information, check out the Night Gallery website.
