The Bar: Friday night at this friendly neighborhood sports bar is all about the many men of whiskey. The tavern trivia specials feature $3.50 drinks made with Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, and Jameson. The bar also has a monthly $3 beer special, this month's selection is Shock Top.

The Trivia: Even though this is a sports bar, the trivia is straight pop culture. If your team makes it through the many rounds of Tavern Trivia, then you can win cash prizes of  $15, $25 and $50.

The People: The crowd at Tavern Trivia is an eclectic bunch featuring barflys, regulars and trivia fanatics. There is no rhyme or reason to the types of people or their ages.

The Style: Nothing special, just a lot of jeans and tees.

What we loved: The trivia night at 16th Street Sports Bar and Grill has been picking Phoenix's mind for over seven years. The friday night event has a friendly atmosphere, a good amount of regulars and plenty of warm rapport. The whiskey deals are also quite the bargain.

What we didn't love: The amount of time given to answer questions, between 3 to 5 minutes, was way too long. This might have been an acceptable amount of time in the pre-smart phone era, but these days it makes the game a bit of a children's edition.

Are we going back? For the drinks, yes. For the trivia, maybe not.
