Allison Elliott's Walls of Downtown Phoenix

Allison Elliott
Medium: Calotype Photography (Salt Print)

The countdown to Best of Phoenix begins! Last year, we profiled 100 Creatives who made a mark on the local arts scene. This year, we'll have 100 creative representations of Phoenix. No scope or requirement on medium or size -- we'll include photography, painting, sculpture, video, installation, literary, and more. What do you see when you Imagine PHX?

Imagine PHX, so far:

100: Steven Revering's Westward Ho
99: Jon Ashcroft's Suspended in Geography
98: William LeGoullon's Table
97. Jason Hill's Phoenix Financial Center

And, hey! It's lunch time. Check out Chow Bella's 100 Favorite Dishes for some foodie inspiration.

The collection of representations (as with any piece of artwork) is subjective by nature, so thanks for your feedback.

If you'd like to submit anything for our series, feel free to email

So, is sending in sepia toned pictures of my back yard weeds good enough, or has #95 usurped that awesomeness?

Please explain to me your subjective interpretation of why this is good.  Thanks.

Don't waste your breath asking New Times to explain anything that they do- listening to their readers is really not their thing, as evidenced by the non answer "Art Fan" received from this running joke of a "culture blog'.

Claire, why can't you ANSWER your reader's question with a simple explanation?

Is ignoring them your "subjective interpretation" of how a true journalist acts?
