Arizona Arts Congress: How is The State Doing with The Arts?

Want to voice your opinion on arts in Arizona? Local arts educators, legislators, business leaders, and artists are looking for feedback and participation in the the 25th annual Arizona Arts Congress.

Scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 7, anyone with $15 can show up to the Senate Lawn at the Arizona State Capitol, 1700 West Washington Street, and chat with arts advocates in small-group formats. Discussions will also take place at the Arizona League of Cities and Towns, 1820 West Washington Street, throughout the day.

Lawmakers will be in attendance to give participants the skinny on how the arts are funded in this state, budgetary breakdowns for 2011 going forward, and what the current legislative session holds for the future of Arizona arts.

Register by end of day today and you're guaranteed a face-to-face chat with a legislator from your district. Late registrants can enroll for the event up until the day of, but may not be able to chit-chat with specific legislators.
