We're nearing the end of January, which means it's OK to admit it: You've already given up your New Year's resolution ... or you're on the fast track to forfeiting.

Instead of shame, take comfort in the stories of four people who are in the resolution minority.

In the past year, they each were passionate about their resolutions, which they wholeheartedly attempted (with a good dose of failure and success). These four pledged to writing a novel in one month, eating dangerously, giving into obsession, and running across the country.

We're talking extremes. And you can read all about them in this week's print edition of New Times or right here.
