Jeff Kraus' Pacman, Nutella Jar, and Lip Lickin' Flying Pig

Show us your ink! MARKED is our new series where we ask locals of all ages, professions and backgrounds to roll up their sleeves, pant legs, and so much more to reveal their marks. Here are their stories:

Age:I turned 34 this September and starting working on a collage of culinary inspired tattoos the same time I started truckin' good food in November 2009. (Check out more about Truckin' Good Food on our foodie sister blog, Chow Bella.)

My Arm Piece:
The most recent tattoo is on the outside of my right forearm. The Ms. Pacman tattoo symbolizes the past, present, and the future.

The past, Ms. Pacman, is for my mom. She loved playing the game. If she were still alive, I know she would be proud of what I've accomplished and would love the food I make. The fruit that Ms. Pacman is about to munch on is a banana. The banana represents one of my most popular crêpes. The 'my first time' crêpe is filled with Nutella, banana slices, and spiced walnuts.

The future aspect of the tattoo is about movement. No matter what happens with my business, or in life for that matter, I'll always keep my eyes on the prize and keep moving towards it no matter the obstacles in the maze ahead.

Michael Bacon, owner of Tattoo U, is the artist doing all of my culinary-inspired tattoos. Seriously, his last name is "bacon," this couldn't be more appropriate for my culinary theme.

Starting a specialty food truck business sounds as crazy as a flying pig. The lip lickin' flying pig tattoo is located on the inside of my right bicep. With a little imagination and determination, anything is possible. This tattoo reminds of that principle every time I look at it.

The next one, a playful interpretation of a jar of Nutella, is located on the inside of my right forearm.

This one pays tribute to my first experience of having a street crêpe in France; the inspiration behind truckin' good food's concept; and my addiction to Nutella.

Next Tattoo? I love duck, everything about it. I use duck fat to cook my pommes frites (French fries) so I'm thinking a duck holding a fry basket would be fun -- we'll see.
