9: Stephanie Carrico
If Stephanie Carrico isn't running around the Trunk Space -- her gallery and performance arts venue -- she might be under a pile of sock monkeys.
The Utah native moved to Phoenix when she was 9 years old and eventually attended ASU for photography and sculpture. She spent most of her time during college hanging out downtown, which is why she bought a home downtown as soon as she could -- it only made sense to be a fixed part of the scene that she had felt so at home in, she says.
In 2004, Carrico and JRC opened the Trunk Space on Grand Avenue. She and her sock monkeys have been there ever since.

1. List five things on your inspiration wall (real or imaginary):
Courtesy of Stephanie Carrico
1. 1000 Places to See Before You Die. Ok, technically this isn't on the wall it is on the table, but it is a big inspiration for me.
2. A picture of my cat Casper, who died about 3 years ago. He spent the first half of his life a rough street animal, and the second half a pampered house kitty ... and he was the boss of everything
3. A handful of photo booth strips of me and my friends
4. A panel from the "Green Pieces" comic strip with a snail riding on the back of a turtle exclaiming, "weeeeeee."
5. A list of things I want to accomplish in my lifetime.
