It's about time this stuff was seen on a bigger stage.

Beatrice Moore, owner of Bragg's Pie Factory, Kooky Krafts, and many other central Phoenix art spaces, announced this week that several pieces from the Moore-curated "Mutant Piñata" show have been selected for the "People's Biennial."

Phoenicians can check out the work during the traveling exhibition that's scheduled to post up from October 15, 2011 to January 15, 2012, at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

The upcoming exhibit has seen its share of criticisms, some of it biting, from local creative types. However, we say that the "Biennial" curators did well with this selection.

The Mike Maas piece (depicted above) and the following four are slated to be on display.
