Tanner Woodford's a graphic designer and educator living in Tempe with his wife Amanda Woodford, a vegetarian illustrator (though we assume she illustrates more than veggies).

Tanner can be found at Arizona State University, where he's a busy web designer and teacher of Advanced Media, Motion Graphics and Interaction Design. And oh, yeah, he recently co-authored a patent detailing the use of multiple, independent user interfaces for a single audio/video device.

Read more about his current project and check out his motion graphic "Getting it Wrong" after the jump.

1. List five things on your Inspiration Wall (real or imagined). - 1971 Fujica ST701 35mm camera, purchased and used by my mother while she was in high school. - Wind-up model aircraft, made by my grandfather out of balsa wood and rubber band. - "Bits from ASU board", an original collage made by Ed Fella during a recent ASU visit. - Wine bottle I invested more than 100 hours drawing and painting during my undergraduate studies at ASU. - More books than I have room for (to name a handful: Seventy-nine Short Essays on Design by Michael Bierut, Look Both Ways by Debbie Millman, Two Lines Align by Ed Fella & Geoff McFetridge, The Art of Looking Sideways by Alan Fletcher, and On the Outside by Mark Holt & Hamish Muir.)

2. What was your last big project? Organizing two 16-week studio courses covering Motion Graphics, Interaction Design and Web Design for 48 BSD, MSD and PhD students in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. Check out an example of Tanner's Motion Graphics below:

3. What's your next big project?
My big summer project is to organize my half of the home studio, which is something I always put off in favor of more exciting work.

4. What do you think the Phoenix art scene needs more of? Phoenix Design Week 2009 served as a much needed shot of adrenaline to the Phoenix Design community. Now that the honeymoon's over, we need to continue identifying leaders and connecting with each other, while sustaining a consistent level of energy.

5a. What's something you want Phoenix to know about you?
I have a hard time turning down opportunity.

5b. (And, if you're game, what's something you really don't want Phoenix to know about you?)
I have a hard time turning down opportunity.
