No First Friday Phoestival Street Party in July or August?

Categories: News
This just in: Looks like First Friday won't be quite the same this summer.

Jackalope Ranch has it on extremely good authority that -- after a series of meetings between city staff and Roosevelt Row representatives earlier today -- the decision was made that the Phoestival street closure will not take place on First Friday in July or August.

That doesn't mean the party's over, organizers say -- far from it. From their perspective, the idea of the street closure was to promote revelry throughout downtown, something they say is happening all along the light rail. Plus, they add, street temperatures in Phoenix in July and August can hit 140 degrees.

Ugh. Anyone have a popsicle?

Check back for more details as we get them.
