As we pointed out earlier this week, Americans top the charts as the most "pleasingly plump" people around the globe. One local restaurant is glad Americans are so gluttonous -- since their business depends on it.

Pity we only got a double Bypass this time...

​We've heard rumors about crazy high-fat diet plans and free food for obese diners at Chandler's Heart Attack Grill since it originally opened in 2005. We figured we'd pop by for a Bypass (yes, that's what they call their burgers) and shed a little light on their high-calorie fare, even if it means we're clearly not shedding any pounds this week.

Whoopie pies are back! This classic dessert has resurfaced in grocery stores and restaurants across the nation, even being named a dessert trend to watch by the NY Times earlier this year. 

So what the heck is a whoopie pie? It's basically creamy white frosting sandwiched between two round, cake-like chocolate cookies. Whoopie pies began with the Pennsylvania-Dutch, likely sometime in the early 1900's. Legend has it that the sweet treat's name came from the exclamation of joy Amish kids would shout when they opened their lunch sacks to find one inside. "Whoopie!"
