After 10 years, the Scottsdale sushi spot has closed its doors -- with plans for a new location in Chandler and hopes to open another in Scottsdale.
After a decade of success in Old Town Scottsdale, the original location of Stingray Sushi has closed its doors. The restaurant's lease is up, but owners say they're already looking for a new location in the area. The goal is to reopen a Scottsdale sushi outlet in 2015.

In the meantime, there's plenty of other raw fish to be had. Stingray Sushi's sister restaurant, Geisha-A-Go-Go, has expanded its lunch offerings to seven days a week, and a third location of Stringray is on track to open in the Southeast Valley later this fall.

New Hotel, Graduate Tempe, Will Bring Two New Restaurants to Former Twin Palms Hotel

Thumbnail image for NewRestaurantAlert1.jpg
We know a couple of ASU students who were seriously devastated when they heard the 24-hour IHOP located on Apache Boulevard closed its doors earlier this summer. Was the pancake house a culinary destination? Hell no. But it was a convenient, cheap dining option for a lot of students.

The only consolation as we head into the fall semester may be that two new restaurants will open inside the new hotel planned for the former site of the Twin Palms Hotel. The new lodging option, which will be called Graduate Tempe, will include both a "diner-chic restaurant" and a "Mexican street food outpost."

The new restaurant is of one of three new projects to come to downtown Glendale.
The West Valley hasn't exactly been a destination for ambitious chefs looking to make their mark in the local culinary scene. But with a new restaurant coming to downtown Glendale, that may start to change.

Later this fall, Cuff, a New American Restaurant, will open its doors at 5819 West Glendale Avenue in the heart of the city's historic downtown. The restaurant comes courtesy of executive chef and owner Tom Harvey, formerly of Eddie V's in Scottsdale.

The Beverly to Open Next Week in Former Mabel's on Main Space; Here's the Menu

Mabel's on Main/Facebook
The bar at Mabel's on Main will remain intact.
For years, Mabel's on Main was a go-to spot in Scottsdale for a well-crafted cocktail you could enjoy in a dramatic, high-style atmosphere. The dark wooden bar, leather banquettes, and hidden private room (or didn't you know about that already?) made it a one-of-a-kind spot in Old Town.

Now chef-partner Aaron May has sold the swanky dining and drinking spot to other familiar set of local restaurateurs, Genuine Concepts -- the group responsible for The Vig, The Little Woody, and the recently opened barcade The King. They're closing Mabel's to make room for a new concept called The Beverly.
