Biltmore Offering After-Dark Dinner Deals Through July 31

Black Chile's enchiladas are part of the Biltmore's "After Dark" deal.
We're thrilled that Arizona now has two Restaurant Weeks -- one during the spring season and another in fall. But it kind of sucks that you have to wait around for months just to partake in the event's dining and drinking deals, especially when the Phoenicians who actually stick around for our infamous 114-degree days could probably use the excuse to hole up in an air-conditioned restaurant with a good, cheap meal every day for a week.

Good news, though. That's exactly what the folks at Biltmore Fashion Park are offering with their new Dining After Dark special, which lasts through the end of July. Visit one of six Biltmore restaurants after 8 p.m. daily and you can score 2 entrees, dessert and drinks for $50 per couple.

Find out who's involved and what grub is on the menu, after the jump.

One Dollar Sandwiches at All Jimmy John's Locations Today

jimmyjohnmill.jpg
Fast-casual restaurants always say how much they appreciate their customers, without whom they wouldn't survive, blah, blah. But today, Jimmy John's is putting its money where your mouth is.

As part of Customer Appreciation Day, the sub shop chain is offering their signature "freaky fast, freaky fresh" sandwiches for just a buck.

Stop by any Valley Jimmy John's location between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 and score a sammy on the cheap. They're only offering one of these babies per customer, so if you're feeling piggish (and like a total cheapskate) you'll either have to visit more than one location, don a disguise, or send your mom/gf/lackey in for a second one.

Of course, there are some other caveats to the freebie. Find out what you get for $1 after the jump...

Bottomless Cocktails Invite Locals to Drink on a Dime

Say "Bloody Mary" three times at Local Bistro, and you'll get three more rounds.
Lately, we've been hearing some buzz about the trend of bottomless cocktails. No, we're not talking about downing a cosmo in your leopard-print thong -- though that could happen after you indulge in one too many of these cocktail specials.

Bottomless cocktails are specialty drinks with unlimited refills that have become especially popular when folks are strapped for cash. Chicago, Atlanta and New York jumped on this trend in recent years, and Phoenix wasn't far behind.

Bottomless mimosas with brunch are perhaps the most common of these specials. Why? Well, it's a lot harder to get trashed on a fruity champagne cocktail than on shots of tequila. Trust us.

While restaurants that offer bottomless drinks will cut someone off as required by law, so far (*cross fingers*) that hasn't happened at Parc Central, where bottomless sangria is a summer special.

"As far as we can tell, people have been pretty responsible," says publicity rep Melissa Rein. "Most people report that they get a nice buzz from sangria but it's a little hard to get truly rip-roaring drunk unless you really try to."

Find out where else to get your drink on (and on, and on, and on) after the jump...

Last Chance to Get Free Donuts & Coffee From BoSa

bosa1.jpg
Act now, because BoSa's freebies will last about as long as their banner.
They say there's no such thing as a free lunch. Apparently, breakfast is another story.

In celebration of the Grand Opening of their newest shop at 37th Street and Indian School in Phoenix, BoSa Donuts is giving away a free donut and coffee to anyone who stops by today or tomorrow.

Both Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts suffered major setbacks over the past few years -- who can forget the poor employees who came in to work one day and discovered the doors of the Krispy Kreme at Arizona Mills Mall chained shut?

The folks behind the original BoSa, which opened in the mid-'90s, waited for the right opportunity to branch out. Starting last year they added locations in Scottsdale and Phoenix, plus a few more local BoSa stores that are run by other entrepreneurs.

Stop in for your free donut by Wednesday, May 25. And if you're too lazy or rushed to walk in, no worries -- the new BoSa has a drive-thru window.

strawberryscoop.jpg
Häagen-Dazs
Now that temps have finally started to creep up, it's a good time to cool down with some ice cream. Conveniently, Häagen-Dazs shops around the Valley are celebrating Free Scoop Day with complimentary scoops of ice cream offered between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10. You're not limited to plain vanilla either -- guests can choose any available flavor for their free scoop, from dulce de leche to coffee.

Participating local stores can be found at Biltmore Fashion Park (2502 E. Camelback Road in Phoenix), Arizona Mills Mall (5000 Arizona Mills Circle in Tempe) and Scottsdale Fashion Square (7014 E. Camelback Road).

But wait, there's more. Want to score free ice cream for a whole year? Find out how after the jump.

Snag a FREE Meal at Joe's Real BBQ Next Wednesday

joebbqsign.jpg
The word "FREE" is the Holy Grail of any culinary giveaway. Of course, "FREE" usually comes with some caveat like "buy one, get one free" or "free dessert with entree purchase."

Not so with Joe's Real BBQ, the award-winning barbecue joint in the heart of downtown Gilbert.

Next Wednesday, May 4, Joe's Real BBQ will give away thousands of no-strings-attached free meals as part of its annual Customer Appreciation Day. Founder Joe Johnston, who is also the man behind Joe's Farm Grill and Liberty Market, started the tradition back in 2000. Since then, the restaurant has given away nearly 45,000 free meals as part of the annual feast.

Next Wednesday, show up for lunch or dinner and get a free BBQ meat sandwich with two sides and a drink. Seriously, leave your wallet at home.

There is one small catch, though...

Free Fries & More at SmashBurger Today

smashburg1.jpg
We love a nice, round, meaty slab of beef -- and no, that's not a euphemism for anything. While trolling the foodie web, we came across a special that will help you fulfill your daily intake of meat, fat, calories and pretty much anything else (except vitamins and leafy greens): free grub at SmashBurger.

In celebration of their impending 100th store opening, the nationwide burger chain is giving away free side dishes. Say, "Happy 100 Stores!!" to your cashier today while purchasing an entree at any of the 5 local SmashBurger locations and score a free side order of SmashFries, plain boring fries, sweet potato SmashFries, onion rings, fried pickles (for the Deep Southerners hidden amongst us) or veggie frites (if you're pretending to be healthy).

You're welcome.

NEW Spring Restaurant Week Starts May 13

springrestlogo.gif
Hungry for some awesome restaurant deals? The Arizona Restaurant Association announced yesterday that they'll be following in the footsteps of Long Island's Restaurant Week sponsors, who recently added a spring event to their annual culinary lineup.

The first-ever Spring Arizona Restaurant Week will take place May 13-22, 2011 at major eateries across town. The roster of participating restaurants is still in the works, but the AZRA offered up The Capital Grille's entrées as a teaser: Choose from 14 oz. Kona-crusted dry-aged sirloin, 8 oz. filet mignon or citrus-glazed salmon. Sounds delish!

It looks like Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chao will also be participating, with 10+ skewered meats and a side offered at Restaurant Week prices. Cost for the three-course prix fixe Restaurant Week meals will be $30 or $40, plus tax and gratuity. Some restaurants will also offer wine pairings to complement the meal.

Tomorrow: Cheba Hut Relieves the Medical Marijuana Munchies with 4/20 Specials

notthe1s via Flickr
"Do you have a legal prescription for that?"

Cheba Hut, the cannabis culture sub-shop chain founded near Arizona State University in 1998, isn't asking. In celebration of 4/20 -- the day pot-smokers come together and often lobby for total decriminalization of the wacky weed -- Cheba Hut locations across the nation are offering a $4.20 special to satisfy your cravings this Wednesday, April 20.

For less than five bucks, you can score a four-inch "nug" sub with chips and a drink, served in a collectible Frisbee. You can also relax to some groovy local music and partake in activities that probably seem like a much better idea when you're stoned, such as Kool-Aid dunk tanks and pickle juice chugging contests.

Even so, history tells us that Cheba Hut will be packed tomorrow. Last year, they sold over 10,000 subs on 4/20; this year, they're aiming for 15,000. That's a lotta stoners.

Now that Prop 203 is in effect, folks who get stopped tomorrow with a joint or two in the car can pull out their doctor's notes and get a free pass straight to the Hut for some munchie relief. And the rest of us without scripts -- well, as we said, Cheba Hut isn't going to harsh your mellow by questioning your serious craving for a "toasted" sub.
