Anytime we spot short ribs on a menu, it's pretty much a done deal-- that's what we're ordering, no questions asked. That's why it's really no surprise that Lucky's King Wah won us over with their short rib hot pot.

The meat-centric dish doesn't skimp on the short rib, which is tender and fun to watch your less experienced friends try to eat with chopsticks. With roasted, bright purple eggplant, scallions, and a sweet and spicy sauce, the ribs come to your table bubbling hot in a clay pot.

The only thing you need now is a heafty scoop of aromatic jasmine rice and you have a hearty, albeit a little heavy and sometimes greasy, dinner. Plus, the Cantonese spot is so cheap you can afford to add this to your list of regular spots without sacrificing your budget.
