If you want an example of what "artisan" really means, look no further than The Simple Farm's Homestead Goat Milk Caramels. These near-perfect confections are the ultimate example of food products made the old-fashioned way. The whole process begins with The Simple Farm's Nubian dairy goats, which provide the high butterfat content goat milk that makes the foundation of the delicate confeciton.

The Simple Farm uses high quality ingredients including non-GMO Light Corn Syrup to make soft candies, which are then individually handwrapped and sold at their weekly farmers market. Making a trip to the small urban farm -- you can visit the goats in person -- is a treat in and of itself. The fact that you almost always walk away with a bag of soft, salty caramels only makes the experience even sweeter.
