It's the baking world's sweetest comeback story.

We almost never run into the problem of too many leftover croissants, but Ollie Vaughn owner/head baker Lindsey Magee certainly comes across them. So, being the resourceful baker that she is, she found a way to turn those day-olds into a brand-new dish.

The croissant bread pudding, made from Ollie Vaughn's croissants, takes the classic pastry and elevates it to the level of a gourmet dessert for just about $3. With spiced and cinnamony flavors, a smushy-smooth texture, and rich dark chocolate ganache on top, the pudding might just be, dare we say it, better than the fresh croissants.

While you can certainly chow down on this treat in the car after you leave, try to hold off until you can get home and heat it up. That way the bread pudding is warm and buttery and the ganache on top is melted perfectly on top.
