North Scottsdale is about to add a new upscale neighborhood tavern to its list of dining and drinking options -- one that's already had success in the Central Phoenix, Arcadia, and Fillmore neighborhoods.

Next week a new location of The Vig, the bar and restaurant with four other locations in town, is set to open its doors in the McCormick Ranch neighborhood next week. The dining spot comes courtesy of well-known local restauranteurs Tucker Woodbury, Jimmy Riley, and their Genuine Concepts group.

The Vig McCormick Ranch will open on Tuesday, June 24.

As with the other locations, the dining and drinking spot will serve a menu of elevated bar fare (think Anchiote Salmon, Prickly Pear Shrimp Salad, and Sonoran Ceviche) crafted by Lead Chef Jorge Gomez. And though there will be some crossover, the menu for The Vig McCormick Ranch will be tailored to the Scottsdale neighborhood.

On the design front the newest Vig location will offer a "modern-territorial feel" with touches that will include bare wood posts and amber-brown paint. There will also be a large patio with misters and a river rock wall to add a sophisticated touch.

This fourth Vig location comes less than a year after the opening of the third location, The Vig Fillmore, in downtown Phoenix. The original location was opened in 2007 just outside of Arcadia neighborhood. A second location, dubbed The Vig Uptown, was added in 2010.

REALLY, THE VIG? WHAT A LAME RESTAURANT TO OPEN IN MCCORMICK RANCH, TALK ABOUT NOT FITTING IN.  WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO, TURN THE RANCH INTO DOWNTOWN SCOTTSDALE BY PULLING THAT CLIENTELE UP THE ROAD?  THERE IS NO PARKING ALREADY AND THE LOCATION IS NOT A DESTINATION FOR A RESTAURANT/BAR.  REALLY DON'T ENJOY SEEING A NEW BUSINESS FAIL, BUT PUTTING A VIG IN THIS LOCATION WAS MEGA STUPID.

The prices on menu look a little steep for a neighborhood restaurant, no?

Currently, any address south of Shea Blvd. is now considered

                        ~~~ Central Scottsdale.  ~~~
North Scottsdale???? Why use the adjective north? This is located at McCormick Parkway. That's not even close to the physical north/south center of Scottsdale - which would be somewhere around Frank Lloyd Wright. Let's stop with the silly label - ALL of Scottsdale is beautiful.
Parking is gonna be brutal for other merchants at peak times for Vig and LA fitness, brutal as in NO parking. Not well thought out.
I'm sure this will be nice in my hood but I really wish people would be more creative with food. Everyone has the same menu... Burgers fish tacos salad... There is soo much more out there please help a vegan gf foodie out.
