76. Chicken Achari Curry from Curry Corner
If you're going by your sense of smell alone, Curry Corner has pretty much every other Indian restaurant in town beat. From sizzling, meaty mixed grill plates to aromatic curries that use both sweet and hot spices, the ASU-area joint could make pretty much anyone hungry in a matter of minutes once they walk through the doors. Family-run and friendly, this place feels like something special, but don't just stand there sniffing. Take a seat and dig in.
While we have to give props to the highly-aromatic makhani curry, which smells like a delightful mixture of baking spices and cream that somehow still manages to be savory in flavor, the spicy kick in the achari curry has us absolutely hooked.
Ginger, garlic, and cumin are all present components in the dish, but the tangy lemon juice and yogurt combined with the devilishly hot blend of chiles makes the curry completely addicting. The bone-in chicken thighs smothered in the curry are so moist and tender that you won't need to pick up your knife at all to enjoy them. Pair all that business with fragrant basmati rice and you have a great dinner and likely lunch for the following day.
