Beer fans have a lot to look forward to this summer.
Well, it seems a few other people have realized that we need food and drink festivals to get us through the doldrums of summer because this week we got news of two new beer festivals, both of which will launch this summer -- and even better yet, both will be held indoors.

The first comes from Affordable Food Festivals, the folks behind Arizona Taco Festival and Arizona BBQ Festival, and M Culinary Concepts. The second is being organized by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.

The first Scottsdale Beer Palooza will be held on Saturday, June 28 at the North Hall of WestWorld of Scottsdale. The event will feature about 50 breweries offering samples of various beer styles.

There will also be a Beer Store at which attendees will be able to purchase beers after sampling them. You'll be able to mix together custom six-packs and fill growlers to bring home. (Why hasn't anyone thought of this sooner?)

Tickets to the event will cost $40 and will include 20 beer samples of 4-ounces each. VIP tickets will cost $50 and will include 25 samples, as well as an hour early access to the event. All tickets include a collectible mini-mug.

Then on Saturday, July 19 the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild will host the first Real, Wild and Woody beer festival at the Tempe Center for the Arts. The fest is intended to be similar to the annual Strong Beer Festival but with a more exclusive and intimate feel that focuses on beer. (In short: this one's for the real beer geeks.) Beer fans can look forward to specialty cask and barrel-aged beers from breweries all over the state.

Tickets to the event, which will go on sale in early May, will cost $50 during pre-sale and $65 on the day of the event. They will include 20 tastings and a 10-ounce hand-blown commemorative snifter. The number of tickets will be limited and the guild expects to sell out.

We'll keep you posted on the details of both events and when tickets go one sale.

Now excuse us while we toast to having events to look forward to this summer.
