Chef Movie Lunch and Learn this Friday at Phoenix Public Market Cafe
If you're into food or the food scene or Jon Favreau, then chances are you already know that his new food-centric movie Chef, is coming out this Friday in Phoenix. In it, Favreau -- who also directed, co-produced, and wrote the movie -- plays a burned-out chef who gets fired from his job at a Los Angeles restaurant and then decides to open a food truck.

In coordination with the highly anticipated movie release, the Phoenix Public Market Cafe has teamed up with Short Leash Hot Dogs to host a lunch-and-learn event that includes lunch and two passes to a showing of the new movie.
The Lunch and Learn will be on Friday, May 16 at the Phoenix Public Market Cafe.
Attendees will join chef Aaron Chamberlin and Short Leash Hot Dog's Brad Moore in a discussion about the lives of chefs, the ways street food influences today's cuisine, and the importance of having passion in the kitchen.
During the discussion participants will get a salad from the Phoenix Public Market Cafe followed by a $10 food ticket that can be used at any of the food trucks at the adjacent Phoenix Public Market's Food Truck Friday.
Attendees will also get a movie poster and two passes to a weekday showing of Chef.
The movie, which is rated R, boasts a star-studded lineup that includes John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, Sofía Vergara, and Robert Downey Jr. It's been pretty well received so far, earning three stars from RogerEbert.com.
Tickets to the lunch and learn cost $25 a person and reservations are required as seating is limited. Call 602-253-2700.
