It's pretty much everything you could ask for from a cannoli.
Last year, we marked the hundred-day countdown to Best of Phoenix by sharing some of our favorite food folks' "Personal Best" lists. This year we're bringing back our list of 100 Favorite Dishes. Have a suggestion for a dish you'd like us to try? Leave it in the comments section or email lauren.saria@newtimes.com.

When a cannoli is good, it is so dang good. From the flaky, crunchy pastry shell to the rich, creamy ricotta filling, DeFalco's does the classic Sicilian confection right.

Sure, the Italian deli has oodles of tasty pasta and sandwich options for a hearty, stick-to-the-ribs meal, but we find ourselves daydreaming about DeFalco's "little tubes" time and time again. The filling, studded with cherries, dark chocolate chunks, and a cinnamony flavor, puts the dish over the top. For a 50 cents more, you can opt for a chocolate-covered version.

Dangerously priced at just $2.75, you can easily justify ordering one or two or 10 of these babies, though the caloric content isn't nearly as guilt-free as the price. The Scottsdale staple has been a favorite stop of ours for years, and we have to admit that this cannoli is most of the reason.
