5 Best Restaurants in South Scottsdale Right Now
Cornish Pasty Co.
Heather Hoch Chicken Liver Pate at Cornish Pasty in Scottsdale.
The newest location of Cornish Pasty opened in Scottsdale last fall and, at least in our opinion, fills an important hole in an otherwise crowded dining and drinking scene. The beautifully designed restaurant and bar transformed two former homes into one dining space with a courtyard patio and open air bar. As with Cornish Pasty's Tempe and Mesa locations, you'll find an impressive selection of craft beer from local, national, and international breweries. The huge menu of modern and classic pasties makes this an ideal spot for an unpretentious meal and a beer.
Evie Carpenter FnB's corned beef hash from Late Night Love.
When it comes to seasonal cuisine, there's no place in town that does it better than FnB. Chef Charleen Badman, who was recently named a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef Southwest award, has a way with vegetables that's made dishes like her braised leeks famous on a local and national level. The restaurant specializes in all sorts of rustic fare and showcases some of the best service you can get anywhere. And the fact that it pours only Arizona wine is yet another impressive feat.
