24 Carrots Vegan Cafe and Juice Bar Now Open in Tempe
24 Carrots, the cafe and juice bar started in 2008 by Sadhana "Sasha" Raj (who came up with the idea for the restaurant while studying biochemistry at ASU), has pulled up stakes at its original location in Chandler and put down new roots in Tempe, at 1701 East Guadalupe at McClintock Road.
"24 Carrots firmly believes that what you leave off your menu (excessive salt, fat, sugar, artificial flavors, and preservatives) is as important as what you choose to include," says Raj.
In addition to an expanded new menu of casual healthy dishes based around seasonal produce, the larger Tempe space also allows for perks like a gluten-free and regular bakery, a patio, and a coffee bar.
24 Carrots ever-changing menu will continue to include a selection of snacks, salads, soups, sandwiches, and house favorites such as Spaghetti & Beetballs and Curry
Chickun Street Tacos. The regular and gluten-free bakery will feature separate ovens and work spaces, each cranking out goodies like custom cakes, cupcakes, and breads.
"We take broken trust by others in the food industry to heart, says Raj, "and we combat it every day by choosing to ethically source our ingredients from farms using environmentally conscious principles. We are proud supporters of our local farming community."
24 Carrots is now open in Tempe. A grand opening celebration will take place on Sunday, December 15, during business hours. 24 Carrots plans to begin opening for dinner starting in January, 2014. For more details, go to the restaurant's Facebook page.
