Singh Farm's 20-acre farm is re-open now.
Singh Farms
Saturday, November 9

Located just off Loop 101 at Thomas Road, Singh Farms opens up its 20 acres of farmland every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The weekly farmers market offers a selection of organic produce and artisan food products. With great values on items like eggs, greens and breads as well as a great outdoor ambiance, it's easy to see why this is one of our favorite farmers markets in the Valley. This season, you'll also find fresh-baked pizzas from Singh's new wood-fired oven, slow-roasted foods from new the rotisserie oven and bar. Guest chefs including Aurore de Beauduy of Vogue Bistro will be setting up shop every week.

Prickly pear fruit and nopales, the prepared paddles of the prickly pear plant
Nopalpalooza 2013
Saturday, November 9

Though not as well-known as the prickly pear, nopales, a vegetable made from the paddle-like pads of the prickly pear plant, are not only native to the Valley but also make for delicious eats. Hip Veggies, an educational collaboration between artists and food professionals, will celebrate the food (and nopales-inspired art) this Saturday at The Hive. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with a breakfast prepared by chef Mario Etsitty, who will be cooking his Dine (Navajo) spin on nopales. The event will also include art, crafts and food from chefs including Liam Murtagh of Bragg's Factory Diner, High Desert Foods (Globe), and Whole Foods Market. Nopalpalooza is a fundraiser to raise money to create an urban prickly pear farm in the Coronado Historic District, which will grow nopales to be sold for culinary use in the Phoenix area.
