Carefree Station Owners Start Anew with Scottsdale Station, Opening Next Week
After nine years, a dispute with the landlord caused Carefree Station, located in Carefree's Spanish Village, to shutter in October.

But as of next week, Carefree Station's owners Robert and Linda Gabrick (who also own Prescott Station) will start anew with Scottsdale Station, their restaurant of globally inspired cuisine located at 8220 North Hayden Road (at Via de Ventura and Hayden in The Village at Hayden).
Here's what diners can expect.
Scheduled to open for dinner service at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 29, Scottsdale Station will feature 8,200 square-feet of indoor space, including multiple private dining areas and an expansive, 100-seat bar.
Expect dishes such as Sea Bass NO-Ka-Oi served with coconut forbidden black rice, asparagus chop sticks, and a roasted-garlic chile butter; Green Hornet Scallops with a spicy green curry sauce; and Steak Bleu Diablo, a Niman Ranch flatiron steak paired with a masa relleno filled with chilies, bacon, tomatoes and scallions topped with Point Reyes blue cheese-tequila butter sauce.
Slow-cooked meats are on the menu as well, along with seafood selections including a raw bar featuring sashimi grade fish, sushi rolls, mussels, and oysters.
The culinary team includes Thomas Nasworthy as Corporate Executive Chef (previously Carefree Station's Executive Chef), Nasworthy's wife, Heather, as Pastry Chef, and Ben Lieberman (Talavera) helming the kitchen.
On the libations side is BevHeaven, Robert Gabrick's homage to wine and spirits, which will showcase more than 300 selections of wine as well as highly rated vodkas, gins, tequilas, whiskeys, scotches, rums, and cordials. Scottsdale Station will also carry a large selection of import and craft beers, with 10 on draft and more than 100 bottles.
Scottsdale Station will be open for dinner service on Friday, November 29. The restaurant will offer dinner again on Saturday, November 30, and brunch and dinner on Sunday, December 1. Normal lunch and dinner hours will start in December.
