Sam Fox's Newest Restaurant Concept Is Called Flower Child
Cue the hippies, peace signs, and sitars (mood-altering drugs optional), because restaurateur Sam Fox, CEO of Fox Restaurant Concepts, has announced the name of his newest restaurant concept: Flower Child.
Nation's Restaurant News reports that the healthy fast-casual concept and "second cousin" to True Food (Fox's chain of healthful restaurants) will open in the first quarter of 2014 near Camelback Road and 40th Street in Phoenix.
Featuring "ingredients like grass-fed beef, wild-caught salmon, organic turkey, and vegetables and a menu of salads, hot pots, and lavash sandwiches," Flower Child also will steer clear of genetically modified organisms and produce high in pesticides, reports Nation's Restaurant News .
"In the spirit of what we do at True Food, and in the spirit of what we've learned over the years with this brand and talking with our guests and employees, we really feel like there's a need for a healthy fast-casual done a little bit better," Fox told Nation's Restaurant News.
Nation's Restaurant News goes on to say that the average check price at Flower Child's $1.4 million 3,600-square-foot space will be around $13 to $14 for lunch and $17 for dinner, and that the restaurant will also serve beer and wine as well as gluten-free and to-go items. Diners will order at a counter and wait for meals to be delivered to their tables.
Fox recently opened his juice bar concept Juby True, a walk-up stand on the north side of True Food Kitchen in the Scottsdale Quarter, in early November. A second location is slated for Phoenix on Camelback Road.
