Cocina 10 at Crescent Ballroom: Happy Hour Report Card
Hayden Harrison Honey Badger cocktail at Cocina 10
The Spot: Cocina 10 in Crescent Ballroom
308 N. 2nd Ave.
The Hours: Happy hour is offered from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Interior: Putting the 1917 F.L. Hart Garage to good use, Crescent Ballroom has a modern yet rustic feel with light gray walls, dark wood tables, metal chairs and simple pendulum lighting. The patio is large with tall tables and misters. Doubling as a bar and music venue, Crescent Ballroom stays consistent with the downtown Phoenix urban vibe.
The Food: On the happy hour menu, the food ranges from $1 to $8. When the waitress brought out plastic plates and silverware, we became a little worried. But the food made us overlook the tackiness.
We began with the $4 cheesy bean dip, which is made of refried pinto beans, cheddar and Oaxaca cheese, and chile de arbol salsa finished with cotija cheese and pico de gallo on top. Chunky and creamy, the dip had a great balance and spice.
Next, we decided to try some tacos -- one Al Pastor, Pollo Asado and Barbacoa for $2 each. The Al Pastor was topped with pineapple pico de gallo and pinto beans. The Pollo Asado was topped with guacamole, jalapeno slaw and pico de gallo. The Barbacoa was made the same way even though it is noted differently on the menu. But we aren't complaining since the guacamole made the Barbacoa and Pollo Asado less bland.

Then we ordered a few fish tacos for $3 each. The fish was blackened, perfectly crisped and finished off with jalapeno slaw, cabbage and pico de gallo.
