Do you have a winning recipe?
Later this month Chow Bella and Changing Hands are co-presenting a book signing and cocktail event with professional mixologist Kim Haasarud, author of 101 Tropical Drinks and the "101 cocktail" series. On August 22 at Tempe's Changing Hands bookstore, you'll be able to catch Haasurud as she shakes up a few drinks from the new book, which introduces readers to the world of rum through the variety of styles, flavors, and regions.

And whether you're an at-home cocktail amateur or an experienced pro, we're looking for your best boozy recipes to enter in a contest to win one of two copies of 101 Tropical Drinks as well as a front row seat at the book-signing event.

Here's how the contest is going to work:

You share your best cocktail creation in the comment section below complete with ingredients, instructions and of course, a kick-ass name by noon on Monday, August 19. Don't forget to include your name and e-mail address, so we can let you know if you win.

We'll choose two winners who will each receive a free copy of Kim Haasrud's 101 Tropical Drinks as well as a front row seat to the August 22 book signing and cocktail-tasting event at Changing Hands.

And for a little inspiration, here's an excerpt from Haasarud's book:

The tropical cocktail conjures exotic visions of swaying palm trees, white sandy beaches, gentle ocean breezes, and libations served from hollowed out pineapples. It is a perfect choice for a warm day, but if you can't make it to the South Pacific, you can feel transported in your own backyard with the right cocktail in hand.

Good luck!

Ola Mojito @ Ola Restaurant in South Beach

Ingredients:10 fresh mint leaves,1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges,  2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste, 1 cup ice cubes,1 1/2 fluid ounces white rum,1/2 cup club soda

Directions:Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

Piña Co-Light-a:

2 oz. Bacardi Light Rum, 2-4 oz. Vita Coco Pineapple Coconut Water. Pour in a glass full of ice. Finish off with a splash of fresh lime juice. Garnish with an orange if you're feeling especially fruity and tropical. Boom. A piña colada without all the sugar and calories so you can still look good in your bikini. AmberMHarding AT
