"Take & Make" Fourth of July Lobster Boil
If you're looking for something to cook up in celebration of America's birthday Petite Maison, the French restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, has something special in store. Their crew will be taking the day off but will prepare a full lobster meal for you and yours to take home and cook on your own. Intimated? Don't worry, they'll do everything from prepping the sides, making dessert and clarifying the butter. They can even pre-crack the crustaceans upon request. For $55 a person they can provide a 2 lb live whole Maine lobster, garlic potatoes, jumbo asparagus, corn wheels, clarified butter, peach tartlet, spices, bibs and picks -- and of course, easy to follow instructions. Get educated at the complimentary wine tasting on Tuesday, July 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lon's at the Hermosa Inn, at which whole sale seller Classico Fine Wines will feature Aia Vecchia Lagone and Elena Walch Pinot Bianco. In addition to receiving a one- to two-ounce pour of the wine, featured bottles of wine will be available for 25 percent off on the night of the event. Sommelier Bill Parker also will be on hand to suggest pairings and answer questions about the wine program.
