This Tuesday, July 30 The Arrogant Butcher at Cityscape in Downtown Phoenix is celebrating the craft beers of Mother Road Brewing Company with a four-course beer-centric dinner. Founded by Michael and Alissa Marquess, Mother Road Brewing Company comes to Phoenix from Flagstaff, where the company brews their products in a 1920s era industrial building along Route 66. The dinner will feature their Roadside American Ale, Lost Highway Black IPA and more, paired with such dishes as oysters with jalapeno, line, honey and smoked salt and pork belly with grilled polenta. Summer School at the Monk
Get schooled this Tuesday, July 30 by beverage guru Dave Johnson at Aaron May's Praying Monk. The Old Town Scottsdale restaurant with more than 20 international brews on tap is hosting a summer school series on all things beer and the next session will focus specifically on Microproducers of the World. In additional to knowledge sharing, beer and food pairing and beer lore, the event will include beer matched tapas and beer samples. The class will begin at 6:30 p.m. and costs $30 per person.
