Good Eats fans and cooking geeks, get excited, because your hero is coming to town. Alton Brown will take the stage at Mesa Arts Center this October for Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour.

If you're not familiar with the man that is Alton Brown, you probably don't watch the Food Network. In the late 1990s, he made his name by starring in, writing, and producing the award-winning food show Good Eats, in which he combined cooking with science -- and puppets -- to teach at-home chefs of all ages basic techniques, history, and the uses of culinary equipment. Now you can catch his act at Kitchen Stadium, where he hosts Iron Chef America.

Brown's first international live tour will kick off October 18 in California before heading to more than a dozen states over several months. The 90-minute show will include his usual quirky humor and culinary science. And the family-friendly production will incorporate audience interaction, so have your lab goggles at the ready.

In the tour's promotional video, Brown promises live music, cooking (duh), and "some bizarre and potentially messy experiments." Don't worry, though, he also says there will be ponchos for audience members seated in the front rows.

The tour will arrive at the Mesa Arts Center on Sunday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $35 a person and a limited number of VIP Packages, which include a meet-and-greet and signed photo with the star, are available for $150. Tickets can be purchased through the Mesa Arts Center website.

Alton's Good Eats rocks! But the road show look real stupic and a waste of time.
