The market/cafe comes to the Valley courtesy of Kevin Lentz, a Phoenix transplant who grew up in the south and learned to cook in New Orleans. The restaurant's name was inspired by the small neighborhood groceries and cafes that served homemade food around where Lentz grew up.

French Grocery will have a variety of baked goods and sweets available including croissants, beignets, brioche, cinnamon rolls, baguettes, Southern cornbread, buttermilk biscuits, Madeleines, French macarons, creme brulee and pot de creme as well as French press coffee and espresso drinks.

They'll also offer a rotating selection of Southern specialty and classic Dinners-To-Go. Expect charcuterie, fresh stuffed pasta, seasonal soups and salads, sides and vegetables as well as:

  • Gumbo
  • Shrimp Étouffée
  • NOLA-style Roast Beef Dubris
  • Jambalaya
  • Shrimp Remoulade
  • New Orleans BBQ Shrimp
  • Duck Confit
  • Beef Bourguignon
  • Coq au Vin
  • Roast Chicken
  • Cochon du lait

The grocery will also sell cheeses, whole bean coffee, stock reductions, fresh baker's yeast, European style butter and creme fraiche. Later down the line they hope to add retail sales of beer and wine.
