In 2003, State Senator Ken Cheuvront, who was in the Arizona Legislature from 1994 to 2010, opened Cheuvront Restaurant & Wine Bar in Central Phoenix. And to the delight of diners, the emphasis was wine and cheese not laws and politics.

Known for its impressive wine selection and epic cheese boards (not to mention some tasty mac 'n' cheese selections), Cheuvront's has made a go of pleasing customers for 10 years at its home at at 1326 North Central Avenue.

But times, they are a-changin'.

The Republic reports Cheuvront has announced his restaurant will be closing on Friday, May 31, celebrating its 10 years with several events leading up to its final day.

But Cheuvront and his popular wine and cheese bar aren't calling it quits just yet. The Republic goes on to say Cheuvront Restaurant & Wine Bar will resurrect itself at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Terminal 4 and will open sometime in August.

The restaurant business in the Valley is tough!! Heartbreaking I'm sure for the owners, but it looks like new opportunities are on the horizon!

I'll miss those lovely wine and cheese flights. Although I guess that's an appropriate enough dish to serve at an airport.
