Leftovers of a meatball pizza and panini from Amy's Baking Company

Through the tinted restaurant windows and line of security guards, guests could be seen enjoying their meals in the partially full restaurant as Samy Bouzaglo smiled and conversed -- even posed for photos -- with guests.

Rick Potts and Sheryl Hugill were some of the first people seated for the dinner service and had nothing but good things to say when they left the restaurant about 90 minutes later.

"I can't complain," said Potts, who also live-tweeted the experience. "The food was awesome."

The couple said they ate the meatball pizza, a panini, and the hummus appetizer, all of which they enjoyed. Though they said the servers were obviously nervous, their experience was good and Samy was "obviously working the room."

They said they asked to meet Amy, but were told she was too busy to leave the kitchen.

"I 100 percent think it's a publicity stunt," Potts said of the whole fiasco. "And it's working."

"I wanted it to be crazy," he added. But also said that for about $30 a couple, he would definitely come back to Amy's Baking Company.

Other Amy-watchers, those with no reservations but plenty of curiosity, passed the hours speculating about whether guests were really family members and friends, personally invited by the Bouzaglos.

Pass the popcorn -- there's no way this show is over yet.

I saw the Kitchen Nightmares episode, and it was the best one ever!

The Buzagolo's invited Chef Ramsey to their restautant to "show off" Amy's cooking skills and were going to use that to counter criticism that they have gotten from "Yelpers" and the like.

So Amy is on her "A game" with Ramsey in there and just fouled it all up.First the pizza. No offense to pizza makers, and there is a skill to make a perfect pizza, but a good passable one is not that hard. Make some dough, thin it out in a pan, add sauce, shredded cheese and whatever meat, vegetables or whatever on top. Preheat oven 350* and stick that sucker in for 15 minutes. Amy could not even manage that, giving Ramsey an undercooked, crap pizza which was RAW on the bottom

The hamburger Ramsey got rained grease and crap and was raw inside.A hamburger is so easy to make, a moron can make one. Just by watching the show, I could tell that thing was a gutbomb and a half.

Concerning her criminal record, I think that someone who has been released from prison and has done their time, should be given an opportunity to make another go at life. She tried to cheat a bank, which is more or less like cheating another thief. Got caught, went to jail for a year. Sh*t happens.

It is not that her greasy husband is stealing the tips and is a moron criminal himself, the employee abuse or the general tenseness of the place. When it comes down to brass tacks, AMY CANNOT COOK. Pizzas and hamburgers is Cooking 101. This is akin to taking your car to a shop, with the mechanic not knowing how to change the oil. Simple.

Lastly (I promise), the second best episode of the lot is "Burger Kitchen" which is a two parter with another couple of deranged people, who stole their own son's trust fund to open a horrid hamburger restaurant, who has managed to run off 20 head cooks a year including the disappearing David Blaine. Second best episode!

On a more positive note, I just want to say something about my favorite breakfast/lunch place and draw a nice contrasting picture.

Yvonne's Cafe: A family run restaurant where the owner's cherish the customers and their opinions, food is consistently good and served quickly, the servers keep all of their tips and love to work there. No one has children in cats bodies, no cyber bullying, no yelling nor swearing at customers or staff, no hour long wait for soggy burgers, no one is calling the FBI.
A restaurant run the right way by a friendly respectful family serving good food, quickly with a smile and genuine appreciation for their customer's business.
The way it should be!

Few comments and notes:

1. The waitstaff was specifically hired for the night's event, and the couple made it clear that they would indeed get their tips. (this is a news story regarding their change in tip policy) This does NOT show they've corrected the problem - especially if the help was hired from a firm to help out.

2. WHY does a couple go on a TV show that will show the worst in them? Even still - if they KNEW, WHY then go and say it was "all an act"? You show your best even in the worst of situations - and I'm sorry, but it doesn't feel genuine.

3. If you say that no one without reservations can enter - DO NOT INVITE a family into the restaurant. You clearly show favoritism and show that your "grand re-opening" is nothing more than a carefully crafted PR stunt to try and correct the damage that you caused yourself. It's clear to me - well even before the event - that they were going to create a positive review instead of letting people be honest.

Shame that a fast food place I went to yesterday showed more class - they had a worker go out of his way to warn me the fries were piping hot and to be careful. They were quite hot actually, and I appreciated the simple comment.

Quite honestly - the restaurant still has a huge mountain (at least the size of Mt. Rainier) in order to not be gone within three months. Add to it Samy being up for deportation (and you DO have to do something big in order to be up for this hearing nowadays - and for two years now), they will be very lucky to be in business three months from now.

On a more positive note, I think Pita Jungle is being very humble/modest in how the bad publicity for another restaurant is actually helping them. (Meaning they know it's helping them but won't make a big deal about it. Shows good character actually.

In all honesty, I can bet there are plenty more restaurants like this in Phx which has a very high number of mediocre to bad restaurants. I have eaten at many, from popular ones people RAVE about to low key ones, I have found very few to be very good. These goons are just two of many who should not be in this business. This show/story just has made PHX even more of a joke in the culinary field. Maybe it's time to stop publicizing these morons and move on.

I found it interesting that on the twitter feed last night, multiple people posted the exact same picture of the menu, (and in one case, pictures of the same dish) an hour to two apat, and then posed for a picture with Samy.  It was like they all had the exact same script!

Has anyone verified that diners had to sign a release/NDA to be allowed in?

I ate there last night with Lisa Shock and another woman.  Ironically it was on Ricky Potts reservation at 9 pm and per Lisa, he gave her his reservation because he went in at 5 pm with others.   I was underwhelmed, the food was tasteless.  The Margarita pizza was soggy in the middle and not much taste other then basil.    The portabella burger was soggy, but I'll give that a pass since I cut it in four so we could all taste.   The peppers were not roasted and still slightly undercooked.   The one I had earlier in the evening at Pita Jungle was much better.  That one I actually picked through my sandwich to make sure I got all the peppers.

The pesto gnocchi was soupy and salty.  It is a place I wouldn't go back to again.   Samy made a point to say the tips go to the servers.  I asked ours if she gets the tip and she said everyone is asking her that and yes.  I handed her cash and paid the meal with my card.

Funny, only drama when waiting outside to be seated (patio was closed for security reasons) ....Samy runs out...THEY DIDN'T PAY....THEY DIDN'T PAY! To which the rent a cop and Scottsdale PD react. Who, who???? Real cop tells the woman "you need to be able to ID them." Rent-a and real cop run to the parking lot and escort two women back. The rent-a-hostess says...can I speak to you privately?.....door closes. The Women walk out a few minutes

Oh, there's plenty more crazy in those two!  Just for starters, Samy might get deported:

Then there's the issue of who the heck schedules their restaurant's 'grand reopening' on the same day they have a deportation hearing???  Don't these people keep calendars??

That pizza looks bad, just a little barely melted cheese.

From what I understand, Pita Jungle loves the extra business the circus brings to the area.

@WhoKnows That is so sad. I think if that is the case then they should just shut down for good.

@Zo_Colleen Ha! I remember that incident, those two girls were in front of us.  I remember the cops chasing them in the parking lot.  The girls were brought their check and I remember them paying; I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding.

@NonnyMus Perhaps someone hecked their scheduling system. That was the lie that was used before in order to get the police involved over their "live threatening hecks". I think it is all just another rous to keep them in the spotlight as long as posible. I feel so sorry people still actually go into this place. I'll be praying for all of your pallets. Bad food tends to leave an awful taste in your mouth.

@girlvsplanet You should totally ask Amy for her FBI contacts to help you with the hackers... I hear they put their entire computer crime unit on it!

@girlvsplanet   I hope your hackers are as nice as Amy's hackers -- hers removed all the stolen photos from her Facebook page so she wouldn't get into copyright trouble and posted the 'grand reopening' press release for her!

@infobahn Pita Jungle has been so successful for so long, I don't think it even matters.

That's where we ate tonight and our waiter just laughed them off. I got the sense that Pita Jungle doesn't care a whole lot. But, everyone on the patio was talking about it.
