Since it opened in October of last year, Arcadia's Milagro Grill has gone through its fair share of growing pains.

When I reviewed the restaurant, which is owned by the third generation of Johnsons, the family behind the Arizona-based Macayo's chain, in January, I found its Mexican-American fusion dishes to be hit-or-miss when it came to delivering on promised flavors. A fact that made the prices -- about three to four dollars more than you would expect to pay -- harder to swallow.

But changes are under way at Milagro Grill -- the most significant being the one its customers will feel in their wallets.

"Next week, we are rolling out new, more approachable price points on our lunch menu," says co-owner Reed Johnson. "Plus, [we're] introducing a seasonal change in our wine menu and introducing a reserve wine list. We have also become somewhat of a post-game destination for spring training, so we just rolled out a special Sonoran hot dog paired with Mudshark Spring Training Ale all month."

What are "more approachable price points," exactly? A representative for Milagro Grill gave a few examples -- and not just for lunch:

- Lunch tacos will drop one to two dollars per order, bringing them all in at or below $10.
- At lunch, the hamburgesa is now $11 instead of $12.
- Flatbreads will be reduced for lunch, and a few will be reduced for dinner.
- Sides are being reduced for lunch and dinner.
- Dinner entrees like the ribeye, chicken, swordfish, and salmon will be reduced one to two dollars.

The representative goes on to say that four of Milagro's most popular margaritas will see price reductions as well.

Will Milagro's new price points, along with its other changes, translate to more business?
Time will tell -- but price is only one part of the equation. For diners, the food will need to follow.
