An architectural rendering of what's to come.
What the hell's a "music-centric retro haunt?" If it's the building currently going up in Old Town Scottsdale's entertainment district, it's Hi Fi Kitchen and Cocktails.

Scheduled to open on Wednesday, March 20, Hi-Fi will be located on the northeast corner of the Scottsdale Beach Club complex at 4420 North Saddlebag Trail. A concept of the development company who brought The Mint, RnR, and Axis/Radius to Old Town Scottsdale, Hi-Fi will focus on music (natch) along with a full menu that stays up late for night owls, cocktails, and a fair amount of sensory overload.

Here's what patrons can expect:

Construction
Created by chef Matt Carvalho (formerly of Queen Creek Olive Mill's restaurant Del Piero, Wildfish Seafood Grille, and RnR), Hi-Fi's menu will feature familiar salads, sandwiches, burgers, and small plates that travel well into late-night territory.

"With a retro concept like HiFi, I wanted the menu to reflect that era of food. I wanted to take the cuisine back to a time when it was about the taste," says Carvalho.

Dishes will include a classic Reuben on pretzel bread, four different burgers (including a signature Brussels sprouts creation), and meatballs. For sweet lovers, over 10 types of milkshakes will be available with the option of adding boozy components, like the "What's a S'more?" made with Bacardi 151, graham cracker, and a flaming marshmallow.

The indoor/outdoor space of stone and steel will feature a square island bar, an elevated lounge-style seating area, and decor items like vintage speakers and black-and-white televisions. Sensory-overload elements include a digital graffiti wall, three projector screens, and 35 HDTVs.
