We all know that those who can't take the heat should stay out of the kitchen -- but what about those who can? Those spicy individuals should make their way to the 6 Alarm Firehouse Cook-off happening Saturday from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Sub-Zero Wolf Showroom in Scottsdale. This fiery showdown will pair seasoned chefs with firehouse cooks as they prepare dishes ranging from mild mannered to molten lava. For $45 per person, guests can sample signature showdown dishes, bid on a date with a firefighter, or win a dinner at a local firehouse. Proceeds from the 6 Alarm Firehouse Cook-off will benefit the 100 Club of Arizona. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the event online.
Peach Blossom Celebration at Schnepf Farms
Schnepf Farms Facebook
If April showers bring May flowers, then January cold snaps bring peach blossoms back (hey, it's a loose rhyme). The Peach Blossom Celebration is happening all month long at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek. Enjoy guided hayride tours and self-walking trails through the Schnepf farm orchards and don't forget to try a peach-packed baked good while you're there. With six varieties of peach trees on location, blooming will be happening all month long, making any weekend in February a good time to go. Celebration hours in February are Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit Schnepf farms online.
