Hip Veggies to Host Orange-Themed Dinner at Vovomeena in Downtown Phoenix Jan. 31
Veggies might not be the average person's favorite food group, but Hip Veggies, an educational partnership between local creatives and food community members have been trying to change that fact. Through art and food-based events they advocate for people to showcase some less-than-familiar fruits and vegetables.

This time aorund they've got their eyes on Arizona's citrus crop, specifically the orange. In addition to debuting the newest addition to their collection of locally designed grocery bags, they're holding an orange-themed dinner at Vovomena in downtown Phoenix.

On Thursday, January 31 local artist Hugo Medina will paint a mural on a wall behind the restaurant while diners and drinkers can enjoy a four-course meal will all sorts of orange incarnations.
Tickets range from $62 without a wine pairing to $89 for two glasses of wine and a Hugo Medina grocery bag.
The dinner menu:
Multi-grain crostini, cream cheese, orange marmalade, caramelized fennel
Arugula, blood orange supremes, avocado, pomegranate vinaigrette
Grilled pork tenderloin, orange adobo, blue cheese grits
Pound cake, orange flower water whipped cream
Prior to dinner will be a cocktail hour featuring citrus sangria for $7 a glass.
