Native Frenchman and chef George Venezia may have lived in the Valley for several years, but he still retains a Gallic agreeability his customers adore.

And now, after running several bistros in town, including defunct Mes Amis Bistro and Bar, the congenial Venezia has opened his latest restaurant: Voilá Bistro in North Scottsdale.

Opened in late December, Venezia's Voilá Bistro, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will feature an "old-fashioned menu with some of France's most classic dishes."

For breakfast, look for a quiche du jour, omelets such as one filled with roasted red pepper, goat cheese, and avocado ($12), crepes, and pancakes. Lunch brings dishes such as a Belgian endive salad ($12), grilled brie sandwich with ham ($11), and specialties including brochette de poulet (chicken kebab) for $12.

Dinner, made up of tapas plates, salads, entrees, and desserts features creations such as au gratin scallops ($9), coq au vin ($19), chicken stewed with red wine and vegetables, beef bourguignon, braised beef with burgundy ($24), and a bouillabaisse maison for two for $48.

Daily specials are also available. For more information on Voilá Bistro, visit its website.
