Since what seemed like a mass exodus of restaurants over a year ago from the Camelback Esplanade, the mixed-use development on the southeast corner of Camelback Road and 24th Street, the seven-month-old Del Frisco's Grille was the first to show the complex still had a chance at new culinary life.

Now, it looks like two new restaurants will be moving into the complex in the upcoming months. One is an offshoot of a local sushi spot. The other is an Italian restaurant by way of Chicago.

According to the Republic, a Pearl Live!, from Jimmy and Tammy Carlin, the owners of Pearl Sushi in Scottsdale will open in the former Morton's steakhouse spot sometime in May. Essentially a Pearl Sushi attached to a live music venue, Pearl Live! is scheduled to open another spot in the former Eddie V's spot in DC Ranch in March or April, and the Carlins may bring one to downtown Phoenix as well.

The Republic also reports that an Italian restaurant called Solo Trattoria, the first out-of-state concept by Gemstone Café Group out of Chicago, is moving into the old Picazzo's Organic Italian Kitchen and Au Petit Four spaces and is slated to open in February.
