To be closer to their daughter, Denis and Catherine Michel moved to the Valley in 2006 from their hometown of Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace, where the couple operated several restaurants for more than 20 years. In 2010, they opened their French bistro in the Scottsdale Seville Shopping Center and called it La Petite France, named after a district in Strasbourg.

Sadly, in October of this year, the Michel's shuttered their restaurant with its scrumptious dishes of German-influenced Alsatian cuisine -- think flammekueche (an Alsatian flatbread), choucroute royale (braised sauerkraut), and several kinds of crepes. But recently, the restaurant has re-opened under new ownership.

So what can diners expect from La Petite's new owners?

The Republic reports new owners Joanne Doll and Samir Bouheraoua (both from Paris) are staying true to the restaurant's original German-influenced French cuisine by keeping the flammekueche on the menu as well as offering various selections of quiches, crepes, baguette sandwiches, and pastries.

The Republic goes on to say that La Petite's original owners, Denis and Catherine Michel, have relocated to San Antonio, where their daughter now lives.
