Chefs Christoper Gross and James Porter Unite for a Staff Meal Hanukkah Hoedown
Not that Valley chefs Christopher Gross (Christopher's & Crush Lounge) and James Porter (Petite Maison) need another reason to stay up late and have some fun, but Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights, seems like a good reason to mix the late-night revelry with a bit of holiday spirit.

From 10 p.m. until midnight on Saturday, December 15, the two will be at Porter's Petite Maison in Scottsdale joining forces for a special staff meal Hanukkah hoedown.
Can you guess why they're peeling so many potatoes? And what's this "Spin the Dreidel" game all about?
At the event, Gross and Porter will be serving up one of Hanukkah's most beloved traditional dishes: Potato latkes. But these aren't just any latkes. These home made goodies will be topped with crème fraîche and caviar -- or, for the purists, apple sauce and sour cream.
What to wash them down with? That's when diners can play "Spin the Dreidel," a take on Porter's staff meal Red Cup drink special where, in this instance, spinning the four-sided top means determining what $5 Red Cup drink you'll receive.
And it wouldn't be the holidays without a bit of gift-giving love. Bring an unwrapped new toy or book (to be donated to the Phoenix Children's Hospital) and your plate of latkes is free. Otherwise, it'll cost you ten bucks, so just bring the damn toy already.
