Name-Calling Restaurant Owner Back in Spotlight: Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale Targeted for Upcoming Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay

Categories: News

Amy's Baking Company owner Amy Bouzaglo versus this guy December 8th through the 11th.
"Ugly," "loser," and "moron" may not be the first words that come to mind as a way for a restaurant owner to speak to an unhappy customer, but Amy Bouzaglo chose to use them anyway.

In 2010, the owner of Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale reacted to a negative, one-star review on Yelp posted by web developer and foodnik Joel LaTondress with an angry tirade that, in addition to the name calling, accused LaTondress of working for the competition.

Things got worse when Chow Bella reported on the fiasco and Bouzaglo responded by posting additional angry comments and arguing with readers. It wasn't long before someone gave Bouzaglo her own Twitter account and hashtag under the name Crazy Amy. The incident even made it into a segment on 3 TV News.

Now, two year's later, Bouzaglo's back in the spotlight again. And this time, she's dealing with a far more famous person known for his temper and name calling: Gordon Ramsay.

From Saturday, December 8th, through Tuesday, December 11th, Bouzaglo's restaurant, Amy's Baking Company, will be filmed for Kitchen Nightmares, Fox's "reality" show in which Ramsay spends a week with a failing restaurant to try and bring it back to life.

Want to be part of the show? Of course you do. To make reservations to dine at Amy's while the film crew is there, email scottsdalerest@gmail.com (the email address is the only way to get reservations, phones at the restaurant will not be answered during filming.). All dinner patrons are responsible for their own meals and drinks and should be 18 years of age or older.

Reading down their facebook page a ways, I see a "special" on french fries for five dollars. I'm guessing that's for gas money to run over to Jack in the Crack...

Amy is clearly homophobe using the word "pansy" in her tirade. please do not give these people your money.

I don't blame Ramsey for walking out on them, they do not deserve his help. One is a thief and the other is just as mental as she is. WOW is all I can say about them, they deserve to lose their business. You can't treat your employees and customers that way, because without them you have nothing.

WOW....and WOW backwards. I looked at the FB page and they have over 54,000 likes.I take it they have gotten that from the show making them popular ...It sure isn't because of the food and service. Sammy needs to Grow some MAN GUTS!

Now if I understand this show correctly, they go to failing restaurants to help them right??

Now we know why they are failing ...just sayin'

finally got to see this episode. Those two are nuttier than a fruit cake. I laughed my ass off. Now they are trying to get in front of the PR nightmare they created by saying that their accounts have been hacked and they did not write all the comments. Good luck with that and let me know how it works out for you two bats in the bellfry. LMFAO

Targeted? No, they agreed to do the show, they made themselves the target. Seems you guys have the same artistic and journalistic ability as Yahoo!.

I work in that area  and am so excited to have another good restaurant within walking distance. I know Gilbert seems like the hinterlands but drop in at Art Intersection (to see their latest exhibition voted Best New Gallery 2010 and Best Place to See Photography 2011 by New Times) and have a great meal ( Liberty Market, Romeo's Euro cafe, Joe's Barbecue , Postino)

I have a feeling Gordon found out about the her history of bank fraud and decided to not associate himself with her.

These people are scum. Samy told my wife she could bring our 3yr old into the store and physically blocked the door. I wish them only bad things in life.

Her real name is Amanda Patricia Bossingham.

The court ordered her to pay $36,294.95 in restitution. Ms. Bossingham plead guilty to submitting an application for a line of credit with M & I Bank using the social security number of another person. The Bank approved the line of credit in the amount of $15,000.

On June 15, 2004, the Court sentenced her to fourteen months prison. (she appealed, but eventually lost, reported to prison in Oct, 7, 2008)

Folie à deux (from the French for "a madness shared by two") is a psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief are transmitted from one individual to another (e.g., Samy & Amy).

I hope that Ramsey does NOT go back in the next season to help these two morons as it would hurt his ratings:-)

You've got to be kidding. As a business owner, you don't treat your employees like dirt. You certainly don't use multiple Facebook pages to disperse the comments and you're no doubt, more interested in selling "crazy" in your establishment than decent food. I've got news for you Princess Amy, you'll eventually run out of customers, as you've probably fired half the town. Remember, every person you've run over will tell one person and then another and another and eventually the town of Scottsdale will show you the door. I was a resident of Scottsdale and it's a beautiful town with really friendly people. You make me want to throw up in my mouth and that would probably taste better than whatever you're serving up.

@beckewing I liked their page so I can follow their crazy shit... since I'm in New Orleans

@beckewing I've been reading the comments on the Facebook page... people are admitting that the only reason they are "liking" the page is so they can continue to keep up with the absolute train wreck this couple has caused.  They don't like the owners or the restaurant, they are loving the comments!  So don't worry, people don't actually like Amy and Samy.

Kloche

I think most of those likes are from people who want to follow the drama. Not people sincerely wanting support this mess.

@beckewing Gotta like the FB PG to keep track of the new crazy chit they post. None of us Liked it because we "like" them, their food, or anything of that nature!
Not to mention there are some straight up Funny comments to read. ROFL.

@carol344 Don't waste your calories walking...the food is inedible and has been proven to be "fake-n-bake". Plus, the owners (who both run the joint daily) are bat-crap crazy with whipped cream and a cherry. I implore you, do not waste a single dollar bill in this establishment.

@lutzmaildepot As it turned out, one of the best episodes ever. Usually I feel badly for the owners.  This time I was able to enjoy without misgivings and absolutely no sympathy for the owners.

lutzmaildepot

@bundybot it was about time that Ramsey simply said "NO" to a whacked out restaurant owner. I don't doubt there;'s a lot of editing done to get the story just right, however, in most cases, people at their worst as exactly as they are in real life. If anyone here's of their place going up for sale send me a message as I know many chef's who are out of work who would LOVE an opportunity to work in such a great town.

@Kloche  that is why I was there. I was home bored and someone posted part one of the episode and I got curious as to if they are seriously that deranged.
Seems they are!

@lutzmaildepot @bundybot Amy/Sammy came into this for the wrong reasons to begin with.

They said so right at the beginning. The only reason they had Ramsay come in for the show, is to shut the critics up. They had no intention of fixing something that they completely believed wasn't broken in the first place.

Ramsay had plenty of restaurant owners who were honestly looking for help. These two only wanted Ramsay to kiss their ass and validate them.
