It's been a few months since we first introduced you to White Eyes Fry Fresh Bread. And while some of you may be sick of food truck mania, Phoenix food trucks don't seem to be sick of you.

Since we last chatted with Alice and John Roach, the White Eyes owner's have been busy kicking tires, perfecting their recipe and getting ready to hit the road. The truck made its lunch-serving debut earlier this week and will be roaming the streets Monday through Friday, slinging their one-of-a-kind fresh and frozen - yes, you read that right - fried bread.

Starting this week you can find White Eyes at 23620 N. 20th Drive, just north of Pinnacle Peak Road in North Phoenix on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can find them at 21241 North 23rd Avenue, 1/2 block north of Rose Garden Lane and 1/2 block east of Quail, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What makes this fry bread different? In case you forgot from our earlier post, Alice, who learned her recipe for fry bread when she was living on the Navajo Reservation near Fort Defiance, and a gourmet dough manufacturer have created a way to make the first frozen fry bread dough. The special dough can be frozen and shipped and prepared (as in removed from the freezer, dunked in scalding hot oil and smothered in toppings) in minutes.

White Eyes serves Indian Tacos and dessert fry bread and prices range from eight to five dollars. They will also be offering a lunch special of a half Indian Taco and chips for five dollars.

You can also purchase the frozen fry bread by the bag or case. For the full menu, information on upcoming events or to order dough visit the White Eyes website.

There is actually a story about the business name and it's origins. I believe Chow Bella wrote an article about them a while back. Chow Bella: Do you have a link to said article?
