For beer enthusiasts who have been pacing up and down Tempe's Mill Avenue, eyes fixed longingly on the 100 year old bank building (and former home of American Apparel), and with empty beer glass in hand: your wait is over.

The World of Beer (WOB) franchise will officially open its first West Coast location on the corner of Mill Avenue and 6th Street in Tempe at noon on Wednesday, August 8th.

Featuring a staggering 58 rotating beers on tap from more than 40 different countries and 500 beers available by the bottle, WOB is also planning to add local craft brews to the tap. And if you're unsure what brew's best for you, beer aficionados behind the bar are there to assist and let you try a three-ounce sample or two.

Plus, WOB's got some special events planned for its opening week and (duh) the upcoming NFL season.

WOB's opening week line-up of activities starts Wednesday, August 8th, with live music from 9 p.m. to midnight. Thursday is Ladies Night "Pint Out" where ladies get half off select drafts. The live entertainment continues on Friday night. And on Saturday, August 11, WOB will host Tempe's first "Brewery Spotlight" with a special Four Peaks Brewing lineup, live music, and gourmet dogs from the Short Leash Hot Dogs food truck.

And when the NFL season rolls in, WOB plans to offer complimentary tailgate food for its customers.

Want to party private-like? WOB has turned the building's bank vault into it's own VIP space with TV's and seating for up to 15 people.

@Sindi Agreed on the Yuengling! Here's hoping they have some.

If you check out their grand opening tomorrow, don't forget to leave a review of your experience on Voice Places, powered by the Phoenix New Times! A link to their listing is in the Location Info widget above.

Hoping you have some Yuengling amber from the Pittsburgh area as I can't find it anywhere around here.

Could you let me know about parking?  I hate to drive somewhere but can't find their parking lot or they do not have one and have to turn around and drive back home.

We can't wait to  try it! We are from the Pittsburgh area, was wondering if you have any great Iron City or IC Lite Beer, or Penn Breweries Penn Dark!

Should have a good polka band play one night for octoberfest, I have a phone number!!!!
