Early this summer we told you Chef Peter DeRuvo (of Sassi, then Prado and most recently Cuoco Pazzo) was getting ready to take on a new venture in Scottsdale. Well, the time is drawing near for Davanti Enoteca to open its doors to the public and judging from the looks of things when we dropped in on Chef DeRuvo, he's got a lot of prep work to do.

When we stopped by Devanti Enoteca, located on the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Lincoln, the place buzzed with energy as wait and kitchen staff worked on perfecting their duties in preparation for the upcoming opening. At the head of it all was DeRuvo, orchestrating the relatively organized chaos with his characteristic hard-ass-chef attitude. We just tried to stay out of his way -- and got a peek at some food in the meantime.

The menu at Davanti Scottsdale carries the same classic Italian fare as the San Deigo and Chicago locations, but with a few additions. Here's a selection of items from each of the menu sections:
