So a lot has happened since the Jim Henson Company withdrew their support from Chick-fil-A over the company's outspoken views against gay marriage.

Shortly after that announcement was made, pictures started popping up around the internet showing signs from Chick-fil-A claiming that the Jim Henson Company toys in question were being voluntarily recalled due to safety concerns. So far neither Chick-fil-A nor the Jim Henson Company have officially explained what, if anything, those safety problems could be. Numerous politicians on both sides of the aisle have now spoken out on the issue and there are some potential reports of underhanded damage control by Chick-fil-A.

It's all very complicated so perhaps we can turn to some Taiwanese CGI humorists to give us some outside perspective on this story.

That might not have been a wholly accurate representation of events.

Either way, the list of politicians who have come out in favor or against Chick-fil-A have grown. Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum has joined with Mike Huckabee in support of Chick-fil-A's stance on marriage. They've called for a 'Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day' to show solidarity with the company over its stance on gay marriage.

At the same time a litany of liberal politicians have spoken out against Chick-fil-A, sometimes landing themselves in sketchy legal waters over their proposals to ban the company from operating in their area. We've already mentioned the mayor of Boston's very public outcry over the company but his opinion has since been joined by an alderman in Chicago. There are open legal questions however, over the legal and ethical ramifications of a government officials attempting to block a private business because of their outspoken political views.

However, residents in Mountain View, California may are trying to use a more democratic approach to showing Chick-fil-A the door. They organized, easily raising the signatures and money required to lodge a zoning challenge with the state over a proposed Chick-fil-A. As result the fate of the proposed Chick-fil-A will remain in limbo until the city reconvenes in September.

Then of course there's the matter of the pro-Chick-fil-A social media profile that wasn't. Shortly after the Jim Henson Company announcement people took to Facebook to voice their opinions. One voice that chimed in on a conversation in defense of Chick-fil-A may not have been an actual human being. Of course there's not way to verify if the sock puppet Facebook account was operating on behalf of Chick-fil-A but it does give you pause to consider who is talking in a loud public debate.
