3. Ahwatukee Farmers' Market -- For just over seven years, local merchants have been setting up shop in the parking lot of the Ahwatukee Community Center every Sunday bright and early at 8 a.m. Fresh cut flowers, brightly colored produce, fresh breads, pretty plants -- all the staples and then some. Come hungry, you're not going to want to miss out on all the great eats. Biscuits & Gravy from Southern Boy Soups & Such, fresh made tea from The Tea Side Express, smoked sausages from Polish Goodies -- is it Sunday yet? We're getting hungry!
2. Old Town Scottsdale Farmers' Market -- Blue Sky Farms, Maya Farm, McClendon Select -- only the best of the best will do for the Saturday Old Town Market crowd. Here you can find exotic fruits and veggies, decadent sweets from Essence, and fragrant fresh breads from the Arizona Bread Company. This market is a little more expensive then the rest but the quality of the products offered can't be beat. Be sure to bring your well behaved pooch out for a stroll around the market. There are always plenty of new doogie friends for him to meet and most of the vendors will spoil him rotten with treats.
1. Downtown Phoenix Open Air Market -- If this farmers' market gets any bigger, they are going to have to be classified as a swap meet! The locals pack the parking lot of the Phoenix Public Market every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. This is your one-stop local shopping destination with more veggies than any other market, cupcakes, breads, chocolates, BBQ sauces, jewelry, clothing, pickles, coffee, tortillas, hummus -- and more. Try not to fill up on samples to quick -- food trucks like Pizza People, Hey Joe, and Torched Goodness park their rigs here regularly on market nights.
