Three Things to Eat, Drink, & Make This Weekend

It's going to be another busy weekend for Valley foodies! The Aloha Festival is at Tempe Town Lake, Devoured is at the Phoenix Art Museum, The Litchfield Park Art & Culinary Festival is happening at the Wigwam Resort, and there are tons of new places to eat and drink.

I wish I could find the time to make it to everything. Too bad there aren't more hours in the weekend. Or two of me.

Here are my top picks for the weekend.

Eat This -- Anything from Tammie Coe, Cork, CPH, or Tuck Shop at Devoured -- This Sunday, you'll probably find me stuffing my face at the Phoenix Art Museum during Devoured 2012. It's by far one of my most favorite food events of the spring season, and this year looks like it's going to be better then ever. I can't wait to see what Tammie Coe and the folks from Cork, Citizen Public House, and the Tuck Shop are bringing the the table. ​Drink This -- 7 Wives Saison at Lon's -- Chef Jeremy Pacheco has teamed up with local beer guys Sonoran Brewing Company to make his very own concoction. It's called 7 Wives Saison, and I've heard it's quite good. The brew incorporates locally sourced ingredients, including wheat from Marana Farms, fennel from Pacheco's very own garden, mesquite syrup from Cotton Country Jams, and pink peppercorns from Singh Farms. The refreshing beer will be on tap for a limited time at Lon's in Carefree, or you can pick up a bottle at your local Whole Foods Market, Aj's, or at the Sphinx Date Ranch in Scottsdale.

Make This -- Pound Cake Ice Cream Sandwiches -- I want one of these suckers so bad I can almost taste the blueberries! This weekend, skip those boring ol' ice cream sandwiches made out of cookies and make these luscious looking sandwiches with homemade pound cake and gelato from your favorite place. Or make your own Strawberry & Black Pepper ice cream with this recipe. Yum!
