Sushi Brokers to Open Second Location in Arcadia

A former flooring store will be the future home of Sushi Brokers' second location.
Think the stretch of Indian School Road between 36th and 56th streets has finally run its course as one the Valley's hottest addresses for restaurants? Think again.

From current dining sites like Beckett's Table, Cave & Ives, and Kitchen 56 to the recently opened bar called The Little Woody and soon-to-be locations like Crudo and (possibly) a second location of Essence Bakery, the span of Indian School Road is still attracting newcomers. And its most recent acquisition appears to be sushi.

Sushi Brokers, the upscale restaurant in North Scottsdale offering sushi as well as traditional Asian cuisine, is opening a second location at 4419 East Indian School Road (44th Street and Indian School) in the former home of Arcadia Flooring.

Scottsdale Manager Jillian Jorgensen tells me the second location of Sushi Brokers will be nearly a carbon copy of the original, with the same menu and a similar casual atmosphere utilizing decór touches such as large stones and wood.

"The owners' mentality is that if it isn't broke, don't fix it," Jorgensen says.

Jorgensen adds that, while she can't give an exact date for the opening, the team is shooting for the second location of Sushi Brokers to be open by the end of the summer.

Right you are...my wife and I say the same thing and end up headed to Stingray once a month because we don't have a good neighborhood option. Do it right and they will be printing money out of that location.

Its not just that stretch of Indian School...it's also between Indian School and Camelback with North and Chick just opening up and I'm sure there are more to come.

I'd been trying to convince the expansion-minded folks at Hana of this for months...the closest places are Biltmore and Old Town. I'm sure this place will do well.

They'd also better know how new restaurants in Arcadia are mobbed in the first few months, and first impressions are everything. Come out firing on all cylinders or suffer the consequences of bad word of mouth.
